the design
The design respects the heritage of the schoolhouse while reimagining it for modern family living. Smart, durable materials were chosen to complement the traditional façade, with red corrugated detailing carried throughout, echoed in subtle features such as guttering and metalwork. The result is a home that feels both rooted and forward-looking, comfortably embedded within its landscape.
the process
Light was treated as a material in itself, used to define movement and space while enhancing the warmth of natural finishes. Inside, considered details elevate daily living, from recessed lighting bars and underfloor heating to bespoke Irish craftsmanship in the kitchen and feature lighting. The interior layout brings a contemporary rhythm to a historic footprint, creating flexibility for family life and evolving needs, while maintaining an atmosphere of quiet refinement.
